Companies will have fewer "fans" as Facebook makes a small change to how consumers interact with branded pages. The social network is moving away from the word "fan" on its pages and is opting to use the word "like"instead. The change is part of an effort for increased consistency across the entire social network. Facebook already features a "Like" button attached to status updates, as well as posted links and videos. Consumers are actually clicking the "Like" button nearly twice as often as the "Become a Fan" button, and Facebook believes the change will increase engagement between consumers and brands. |
